Sanderson hosts Virtually Impossible! A Cyber Breakfast Briefing

The morning of Friday 12th October saw Sanderson host Virtually Impossible! Managing Conflicting Demands in Cyber Security, a cyber breakfast briefing at Ashton Gate Stadium, Bristol. As cyber security is becoming an increasingly prevalent topic in the business world, the event brought together cyber security professionals across the South West to discuss current issues and topics in the industry.

Over the course of the morning, the group discussed the current challenge many Security Managers find in balancing the workload of dealing with management challenges as well as developments in technology; how do managers balance the rapidly evolving environment plus the demands of keeping key stakeholders happy?

The morning was led by Phil Greenwood, the co-founder and solution architect at Glacis, and Jonny Tyers, a Cloud Cyber Security Consultant and was structured in three parts; how staff can use the latest digital tech at work, how the board can become more involved in cyber security, and discussing threats, vulnerabilities and attacker techniques in the current cyber environment. Each topic brought some great ideas to the table and sparked some interesting discussion between the attendees.

Sanderson’s Delivery Manager of Cyber & Information Security, Mary Pearson said:

‘This was the 2nd in series of cyber breakfast briefings we are looking to host. The location was perfect and lent itself well to a small, informal discussion. The event was focused around the ways in which organisations can allow their staff to work flexibly, whilst also remaining secure… this led to varied conversation to which everyone contributed. Personally, I find these a fantastic way of not only meeting new professionals in the security space but also developing mine and my team’s knowledge, within this highly nuanced field. I look forward to hosting many more’.

Thank you to all those who attended!
