RSG partake in LGT Vestra's dodgeball tournament in aid of The Prince's Trust
On Thursday 7th June we took part in LGT Vestra’s annual dodgeball tournament. The tournament is into its 7th year. Teams from across the city compete for the coveted title of Dodgeball Champion, whilst raising money for The Prince’s Trust – alongside an award for best fancy dress.
Alongside our 2 teams at RSG, the tournament consisted of companies including LGT Vestra, PWC, Grant Thornton, TLT Solicitors to name a few, all battling it out in a group stage bracket. All teams faced each other in ‘best of three’ sets, with the top four teams progressing to semi-finals. The winner of this year’s competition were reigning champions PwC who had two teams reach the semi-finals.
Alike us, LGT Vestras work with The Prince’s Trust as their charity partner. Being able to take part in an event like this with like-minded Bristol based companies to help raise money for such a credible cause is extremely valuable.
The Princes Trust is the UK’s leading youth charity, helping disadvantaged 11 - 30 year olds who are unemployed or struggling at school. The Prince’s Trust gives vulnerable young people the practical and financial support they need to stabilise and transform their lives.
Three in four young people who are supported by The Prince’s Trust move into work, education or training. Over the last forty years the charity has directly helped over 825,000 young people and they continue to support over 100 more each day.
"There was a really good atmosphere on the day. It was my first time taking part in LGT Vestra’s annual dodgeball tournament and it didn’t disappoint. The event is extremely well set up, being able to be involved in games thick and fast, whilst having the right amount of time to enjoy the live band, burgers and the bar to put money towards the Trust. To be able to have such a fun afternoon whilst raising money for the trust was extremely rewarding."
