PRESS RELEASE: UK independent recruiter RSG jumps 100 places on Sunday Times Top Track 250

Resource Solutions Group, one of the UK’s largest independent recruitment organisations, has jumped 100 places on the prestigious Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 league table in the space of a year.

Resource Solutions Group (RSG), which employs nearly 220 people and is headquarted in Bristol, recorded sales of £236m and a record profit of £12m – which saw them shoot from 182nd in the 2015 list to 82nd in 2016.

Published yesterday (Sunday Oct 2), the 12th annual Sunday Times Grant Thornton Top Track 250 table ranks Britain’s private mid-market growth companies with the biggest sales.

The 16 companies headquartered in the South West (compared to 15 last year) have made a strong contribution to the local economy with Resource Solutions Group (RSG) having made a particularly significant leap.

Chief executive of RSG Mike Beesley said: “Everyone at RSG should feel proud of this great achievement. When you look down the list of
the Top Track 250 you realise the caliber of the company we are in and it’s to the credit of everyone in the business that we have climbed so far in such a short space of time.

“The vision we set out is to organically grow into new markets and areas and to manage these new offices with either homegrown RSG people or to bring in regional experts who have the local know-how to deliver sustainable operations quickly.

“We have successfully also driven this through our RSG Academy and at the same time launched our CSR programme, which aims to give back to Bristol and the South West – a place we have called our home for 40 years.

“Well done to everyone from our region who made the list and we look forward to another year of hard work ahead.”

Together across the region, the companies increased combined sales 14% to £3.9bn and operating profits 19% to £175m, and they employ almost 23,000 people.

The league table and awards programme is sponsored by Grant Thornton, and compiled for the 12th year by Fast Track, the Oxford-based research and networking events company.

Tim Lincoln, Partner at Grant Thornton UK LLP, praised the companies for their performance: "In the wake of the EU referendum it is more important than ever that businesses, and the public and the third sectors work together to help the UK to build on its strengths and ensure that the economy continues to grow.

“I am heartened to see how these businesses are embracing a collaborative approach to drive prosperity throughout the UK and wider society.”
