Local recruitment provider Resource Solutions Group Plc (RSG) has helped its employees raise over £600 for prostate cancer through their generous ‘Matched Giving’ scheme.
Every member of the 150 staff employed by the Bristol-based company is entitled to claim up to £400 in each calendar year from the ‘Matched Giving’ scheme for a charity for which they have either raised money for or given time to.
On Sunday 15th May, a team of employees from the organisation ran the Bristol 10k in order to raise money for the Prostate Cancer Charity. The team consisted of individuals from all across the business, including the Head of Business Development and the CEO.
CEO Mike Beesley said: "The Prostate Cancer Charity is a fantastic cause and I was happy to sacrifice a few blisters and twisted ankles to try and raise funds to support them. They work tirelessly to raise awareness of this terrible disease, which will almost certainly touch all of our lives at some point.
"My own father has prostate cancer, and because of the fantastic advances made by charities such as this, he has managed to maintain a largely normal life whilst he lives with his illness."
HR & Communications Director Sara Pitkin said: "We are very proud to be able to support our employees with their fundraising efforts. They have all worked really hard with their training and trying to raise awareness, so we are delighted to be able to match their efforts.
"RSG is one of the most profitable companies in the South West and we are keen to give back to society by supporting good causes and getting involved with local events. As part of our overall Corporate Social Responsibility strategy, the ‘Matched Giving’ scheme was established to encourage our staff to get involved in the voluntary sector, and so far we have seen an impressive uptake."
